One of the most unique corners of Lithuania faces the challenges with air pollution, noise, traffic accidents, congestion etc. caused by motorized vehicles distribution goods inefficiently and using fossil fuels. Implementation of green logistics solutions is one way to handle this issue. With less CO2 emissions from freight transports, the streets of the Curonian Spit will be cleaner, safer and healthier environment for residents and tourists!
Right now the Neringa municipality and the Green Policy Institute are participating in an international project, Low Carbon Logistics, cooperating with South Baltic countries with similar challenges. In this project the goal is to analyze the situation and make a small pilot investment to make the freight transports more efficient. To analyze the Neringa region, interviews have been conducted with truck drivers on the ferry to Neringa.
